SCHOOL READINESS PROGRAMME
What is School Readiness?
- School readiness, a term that means that a child is ready to enter a social and educationally based environment.
Main Objectives:-
• To prepare the child for formal learning.
• To develop fondness for school.
• To develop a sense of belongingness.
• To develop a sense of personal
cleanliness.
• To develop a habit of bringing personal materials such as tiffin box, bag, water bottle, etc. From home and remembering to carry them back home.
• To develop the habit of using toilets properly.
• To inculcate in them the habit of school routine.
• To make them get to know the school environment.
• Readiness in attitude.
• Love for learning for rest of his/her life.

n Activity based approach
n New concept of home assignment
n Assessment through grades
n 4-6 weeks initially the child should get adjusted in the school environment.
TO ACHIEVE THE OBJECTIVES,FOLLOWING ACTIVITIES ARE CARRIED OUT-
- Welcome of child and parent teacher meeting.
- Story telling
- Different types of group games
- Conversation through pictures
- Creative activities like drawing, clay- modelling,etc.
- To achieve the objectives,following activities are carried out-
- Singing songs and rhymes
- Puppet plays
- Observation ,naming and classification of objects.
- Conversation through pictures, songs, rhymes, dramatization and film shows.
